Prague 3, day 70: Na Viktorce

Originally published on Twitter on 2 July 2022.

Na Viktorce was built in 1925.

A farming settlement was founded here in 1873. From the end of the nineteenth century onwards, it was owned by one Viktor Kos (1858-1911), hence the name.

Kos set up a brickyard here… which now has me playing a game of Whose Brickyard Is It Anyway, in which today’s post and yesterday’s post (https://whatsinapraguestreetname.com/2022/11/21/prague-3-day-69-u-stare-cihelny/) are saying different things.

After WWII, Žižkov freight railway station – i.e. Nákladové nádraží Žižkov – was expanded. As a result of this expansion, Viktorka ceased to exist.
