U vodotoku was built in 1935.

U Vodotoku (which we’d translate as something like ‘watercourse’) is a pond on the Zátišský stream, created in the 1960s at the same time as many surrounding housing estates.
Given the dates, we have to assume that the street was named after the various waterways round here, and the pond was then named after the street.
Having started to suffer from a lack of water, it was renovated in 2006, removing silt and improving its suitability as a refuge for animals in the aquatic ecosystem.

Further renovations were required in 2024, partially because people feeding the birds have also led to a large colony of rats, and their system of burrows.

In 2007, 97 species of plants and 150 species of butterflies were found to be growing (or flying, if you’re a butterfly) around here.
