Historically, there was a highway (if that’s the term) leading from Žitná brána (https://whatsinapraguestreetname.com/2024/02/27/prague-2-day-36-zitna/) to the then village of Vršovice. After Jan Želivský died in 1422, he took over as preacher at Our Lady of the Snows (Panny Marie Sněžné, on Jungmannovo náměstí).
