Prague 4, day 418: Rosečská

Rosečská was built in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Not very specific, I know.

Roseč (population 225) is a village in South Bohemia, eleven kilometres east of Jindřichův Hradec. The earliest written mention dates from 1367, by which time it probably already had a church, the Church of Saints Simon and Jude.

The Church was destroyed in the Hussite Wars, and a replacement was built in 1551. This, in turn, was burned down in 1743; it underwent a Baroque reconstruction from 1791 to 1794.

In 1976, Roseč, along with nearby Ratiboř, was incorporated into the municipality of Hatín, but became an independent municipality again in 1990.
