What's in a Prague street name

Prague 4, day 416: Rozárčina


Rozárčina was built in 1947.

Until 1952, it was called U krčské vodárny V, on which see https://whatsinapraguestreetname.com/2026/05/24/prague-4-day-386-u-krcske-vodarny/.

For it’s current name, we’re still on Antal Stašek’s O ševci Matoušovi a jeho přátelích (https://whatsinapraguestreetname.com/2026/05/13/prague-4-day-381-sevce-matouse/). Rozárka is Růza Kyklová, the local girl whom the lead character, Matouš, falls in love with.

She is also the daughter of Jakub Kykal, a character whom yesterday’s street is named after (https://whatsinapraguestreetname.com/2026/08/03/prague-4-day-415-kykalova/).
